A delicious greek pie made with spinach and feta cheese. This classic Greek favorite savory pastry works well as a sidedish, appetizers or even a light lunch.
Ingredient:
2 cans TC BOY Solid White Meat Tuna in Spring Water, drained
6 sheets phyllo pastry
125g butter,melted
1kg Chinese spinach
1 large onion,peeled & chopped finely
3 cloves garlic, chopped
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons capers
1 tablespoon fresh thyme
3 tablespoons sesame seeds
½ cup grated feta cheese
2 eggs, beaten
1egg yolk,beaten
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Others salt
Freshly ground
Black pepper
Olive oil
Preparation:
1. Heat olive oil and sauce onions and garlic until onions turn soft.
2. Add Chinese spinach leaves ,some capers and ground nutmeg and mix.
3. Add fresh dill, chopped fresh thyme,lemon juice and freshly ground black pepper.Add salt to taste, then transfer to bigger bowl.
4. Add eggs and mix well.Add feta cheese and TC BOY Tuna.
5. Brush melted butter on each sheet of phyllo pastry, then arrange them on top of each other.Place the tuna mixture onto the top layer, sprinkle some sesame seeds and black pepper and a little butter all over.
6. Wrap up lengthwise, brush egg yolk on top layer and sprinkle sesame seeds and freshly ground black pepper on top.
7.Bake in pre-heated oven at 180 C for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
