SUSTAINABILITY
Dolphin Safe
All tuna purchased, processed and sold by TC Boy is dolphin safe. TC Boy rejects all tuna fishing methods, such as gill or drift netting, which endanger dolphins. Fishing methods considered dolphin-safe are long line, pole and line, and the purse seine method. We are committed and adhere to our own dolphin-safe policy which we will not purchase tuna from vessels associated with dolphins. We also do not purchase tuna caught with gill or drift net as such fishing method capture all marine life in a net such as dolphins, other marine mammals or even seabirds. We ensure all the suppliers of our raw tuna must be 100% dolphin safe and certified.
Responsible purchasing
In TC Boy, we take it very serious to ensure all our fish are caught responsibly and in a sustainable way. We are committed to only purchase from sustainable fisheries and do not purchase from unknown vessels which there is no assessment or the status is unknown. All our fisheries source are certified, traceable and legal.
TC Boy do not support shark finning activity which is inhumane, unsustainable and irresponsible and we will not engage with supplier who do. We also do not purchase of overfished tuna species such as Altlantic bluefin (Thunnus thynnus), Pacific bluefin (Thunnus orientalis), Southern bluefin (Thunnus maccoyii), Bigeye (Thunnus obesus) and use in our cans.
